How to inject in the buttock

Sometimes in life there are situations when it is necessary to give an injection, but there is no doctor nearby. Of course, some agile Homo sapiens can inject themselves. However, this is not correct, and can lead to negative consequences.

It is better to instruct a loved one who can help you how to properly inject in the buttock. Moreover, you do not need any special knowledge in the field of medicine.

Step 1. Prepare everything you need for the procedure
To get started, prepare everything you need in order to calmly inject later. Take your time and follow the instructions exactly.

Soap
Doesn’t have to be antibacterial.

Towel
Disposable is best.

clean plate
It will need to lay out all the tools.

Gloves
In fact, gloves are needed in order to protect against infection, both the patient himself and the one who will give him the injection.

syringes
The volume of the syringe should correspond to the medicine injected into it.

Needles
They are necessary in order to dilute the medicine. In the event that a dry preparation is sold in a glass ampoule with a closed lid, it is diluted as follows:

Solvent is drawn into the syringe.
Next, pierce the rubber cap with a needle and release the solvent into the ampoule.
To completely dissolve the drug, it is necessary to shake the ampoule without removing the needle from the cap.
As a result, the resulting solution can only be drawn back into the syringe.
It is important to note that after diluting the medicine, the needle must be changed, since it is already blunted.

Alcohol wipes or antiseptic
You will need alcohol, antiseptic or chlorhexidine. At home, alcohol wipes, sold in every pharmacy, may also be suitable.

Place for garbage
It is better to immediately get rid of garbage so that it does not fall on a dish with clean tools.

Step 2. Learn to wash your hands
You will have to wash your hands three times: before laying out the instruments, immediately before the injection itself, and after the procedure is completed.

Step 3. Prepare the site
Place a plate near you so that you can easily reach the tools. You should also pay attention to good lighting.

It is relatively unimportant in what position the patient will be. The main thing is that the one who will give the injection feels comfortable and convenient, without fear that his hand may tremble during the administration of the medicine.

If you are worried that you may not get to the right place, then in this case you can make a mark on the buttock.

If you visually divide the buttock with a vertical and horizontal line, then the injection should be done in the upper right part.

Step 4. Do it right
Wash and sanitize your hands and plate.
Prepare 5 alcohol wipes or 5 sanitized cotton balls by placing them on a plate.
Prepare an ampoule with the drug and a syringe. Don’t open them yet.
Wash your hands.
Put on gloves and treat them with an antiseptic.
Treat the ampoule with an antiseptic and open it. After that, the ampoule should be put on a plate.
Take the syringe out of the package.
Open the needle and draw the drug into the syringe.
Then point it up and release all the air.

Disinfect the patient’s buttock. First, treat a large area, and then, taking another napkin, wipe directly the place where you will inject.
Take the syringe and set it perpendicular to the skin (not at an angle).
With a confident movement, insert the needle into the buttock. You should not enter it too deep, so as not to break. The needle should remain about 1 cm above the skin surface.
After that, start slowly injecting the medicine. Take your time and always make sure that the syringe is in the same position, otherwise you can cause great discomfort to the patient.
Take a pre-prepared cotton wool or napkin and apply it next to the injection site. After that, with a calm movement, remove the needle, and press the cotton wool against the wound for a couple of minutes.
Get rid of all used tools.
Wash your hands.
